Printing and laminating learning cards: a practical guide

Published on 6 July 2026

Paper, settings, laminator: our tips for cards that last for years.

A beautiful PDF deserves a beautiful print. Here is what we recommend after hundreds of tests. Paper: 160 to 200 gsm for cards that get handled a lot; 80 gsm is fine for colouring pages. Settings: “actual size” (never “fit to page”), normal quality, standard colours. Laminating: 80-micron glossy pouches, leaving a 3 mm border around each card for a solid seal. No laminator? Thick paper and rounded corners (a corner punch works wonders) already go a long way. And if a card gets damaged… just print it again: that's the magic of PDF.
